My name is John Boyle, and I am running for Representative for Michigan’s 52nd District.  This is my first run for public office.  While I am new to politics, I am not new to the world of restructuring nor to the world of grappling with complex problems – as that is what I have done over the last 25 years – as a strategy consultant for J.L. Boyle International. 

Our state is suffering through its 5th year of a one-state recession.  The cost to run our state is going up at an unaffordable rate -- and people and businesses are leaving in droves.  If we want to stop Michigan’s slide into the economic abyss, we will need new leaders in Lansing -- leaders who will fearlessly and faithfully fight to shrink the size and intrusiveness of Michigan’s Government.  The leaders who brought on this sad state of affairs, including Representative Pam Byrnes, want you to send them back to Lansing.  Don’t reward failure.  This state needs and deserves a new lease on life and a game plan to return to prosperity.

I have been a Michigan resident for 37 years, and I have been a resident of Washtenaw County for 28 years.  All three of my children were born and raised in Michigan.  Not surprisingly, given the deterioration of Michigan’s economy, all three are pursuing careers outside of Michigan.

My goal is to offer the voters in Michigan’s 52nd District a distinct alternative to the Democratic and the Republican candidates.  While I hope you will vote for me, I only want your vote if you believe I am the best candidate FOR YOU, FOR YOUR CHILDREN, FOR YOUR GRANDCHILDREN, and FOR MICHIGAN.

Here’s the bottom line :

   If you like living in a state that ranks last in almost every measure of economic performance, don’t vote 
for me

• If you want a legislature that is of the government, by the government, and for the government, don’t vote for me.
• If you think the problems in Lansing should be solved with more taxes (to quote Governor Granholm  “Michigan needs a tax boost to compete”), don’t vote for me.
• If you want a Representative for the 52nd District who claims we can change Michigan’s direction without offending at least some of Michigan’s powerbrokers, don’t vote for me.

   But, if you want a Representative in Lansing :

• Who will fight tirelessly for balanced budgets without increased taxes,
• Who will fight to shrink the size and intrusiveness of state government,
• Who will never vote for an increase in the current rate of taxes,
• Who is beholden to no one but the voters

    …Then you should vote for me.
